The channel tunnel is built beneath the
English Channel, linking Britain with
mainland Europe. It has twin rail tunnels,
50km (31 miles long) and 7.3m (24 ft) in
diameter, it is located 40m (130 ft) beneath
the seabed. It is Specially designed for
shuttle trains which carry cars and lorries.
